READ IN ITALIAN
Every year, Seascape organizes 2 calls (one for each semester) open to the entire national and international scientific community, in order to select a shortlist of articles on specific topics.
The identification of the papers to be published is entrusted to the Scientific Committee and to external scholars and takes place via a double blind peer review. Participation in the call is allowed by submitting an abstract (structured in a prearranged format). The abstract is evaluated anonymously by a minimum of 3 referees. Each reviewer assigns the abstract a score from 0 to 40, which considers:
– the relevance of the proposal to the topic of the call (maximum 10 points),
– the originality of the proposal (maximum 10 points),
– the quality of the language and the clarity of the presentation (maximum 10 points),
– the research methodology (maximum 10 points).
Once the texts have been collected, the editorial staff formulates the ranking of the selected contributions on the basis of the sum of the scores assigned by the 3 reviewers, accepting an average of 10 articles for each issue. At the end of the first review phase, the Scientific Board will communicate the outcome of the evaluation to each proposer.
Subsequently, the authors of the promoted articles will receive detailed information on how to deliver the complete report, in compliance with the editorial norms.
The second phase of the referral process begins after the receiving of the full papers. Each article will be anonymously revised by 2 referees who may give indications in order to improve the contents and the understanding of the text, in compliance with the editorial norms. Should the full paper be deemed as not sufficient, the author/s will be given notice of the impossibility of publication. The promoted papers will be reviewed by the editorial staff to verify compliance with the editorial normrules, before moving on to the layout stage.
The publication of the papers selected for the first issue is free. From the second issue, the fee is of 80,00 euros for each paper written by a single author. For papers written by more authors (maximum 6 authors), the fee will be as follows:
– the fee is 120,00 euros for papers written by 2 authors collectively;
– the fee is 180,00 euros for papers written by 3 authors collectively;
– the fee is 240,00 euros for papers written by 4, 5 or 6 authors collectively;
– the fee is 50,00 euros for texts published in the column.
The payment must be made – under penalty of exclusion – within the conclusion of the second review phase of the full paper.
