Matteo Almonti
Architect – PhD student

Matteo Almonti is an architect and PhD candidate in “Architecture. Theory and Design” at Sapienza University of Rome, where his research focuses on the relationship between architecture, landscape, and new forms of contemporary work. He graduated with honors and in 2023 from the University G. d’Annunzio of Chieti–Pescara with the thesis “L’ultima isola. Recupero dell’ex area Italgas a Venezia”. He has collaborated with international firms, including BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group, contributing to major projects in Europe and the Middle East. In 2022 he was selected by Zaha Hadid Architects to join the team at the Venice Studio. Since 2024 he has been running his own practice, developing projects in Italy and abroad. His works have been exhibited in national and international exhibitions, including the Italian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale of Architecture 2025. He is teaching assistant at the Department of Architecture in Pescara, within the courses of Architectural and Urban Design.
